Mormon Church Historical Sites

There are 24 official historical sites for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Whether you are a Mormon or not, there is no denying the sacred feeling of the stories that occurred in these humble places.

After coming out of Kirtland, Ohio, the Mormon Pioneers followed the church leadership to Missouri in the later 1830's. Many believed they were meant to stay here and grow the church, but political unrest and tension with the local population proved otherwise.

Established in 1830 in Fayette, New York, Mormon Church historical sites stretch from Sharon, Vermont (birthplace of the founder Joseph Smith) to San Diego where the Mormon Battalion helped develop the southwest and early California.
